Volunteer

For as little as a few hours a month, volunteers can become an integral part of the Center of Family Love tradition and quality care that families and loved ones have grown to rely upon.

There are many ways you can volunteer your time at the Center of Family Love. Below are some of the current needs CFL has for volunteers. Clerical Assistants

Clerical help is needed in several of our administrative departments. Assistance is needed with tasks such as filing, folding, labeling and preparing mailings. Most departments seek a weekly commitment of two hours or more. Hours are generally flexible within the range of 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday.

Committee Members

Committee members are needed to help plan and assist with special events and fundraisers throughout the year. Volunteers may join one or several committees depending on availability and interests.

Entertainers

Are you a musician, juggler or magician? Do you have a talent for storytelling or puppetry? Entertainers and performers of many types are welcome to volunteer their skills and talents at the Center or in our group homes.

Field Trip Assistants

Field trips are scheduled throughout the year at our main campus, group homes and community homes. Assistants are needed to help push wheelchairs and provide fun interaction for individuals participating in the trip. Trip locations include movies, shopping centers, sporting events, zoos and many other great local destinations. Trip days and times vary, so you can sign up for the ones that fit in your schedule.

Landscaping Assistants

If planting flowers, pruning shrubs and raking leaves sounds like a perfect way to spend your day, then we have a volunteer opportunity for you! From spring until fall our grounds need constant attention, and our “green-thumbed” volunteers are key to helping us keep them beautiful.

Special Projects

Does your group love to paint, work outdoors or participate in other home improvement projects? These projects are ideal for businesses, clubs, church groups or other organizations.

Spiritual Volunteers

Church groups and Sunday school classes are welcome to share stories or participate in spiritual activities with many of the individuals we serve. Reading bible stories, singing hymns and helping with arts and crafts are ways you can help provide spiritual enrichment.

Volunteer Professionals

Do you have professional skills that could benefit the Center of Family Love? If you’d like to integrate your professional talents with your volunteer work, or if you’ve recently retired but would like to continue working in your profession on a voluntary basis, we’d love to hear from you. Opportunities are available for professionals from many fields.

Weekend Activity Volunteers

Weekends are a great time to volunteer with the individuals we serve. Volunteers may choose to participate in one-on-one activities with our individuals such as reading together or taking walks, or they may plan group activities with other volunteers such as games or craft projects. The possibilities to share your hobbies and interests are endless!
