Intensive Care Facility for Adults with Developmental Disabilities
The ICF is home to 54 DD adults we call our Special Angels. It features around-the-clock nursing staff. Adults in this facility are not able to live independently and need 24-hour care to attend their basic human needs of nutrition, hygiene, exercise, recreation, intellectual stimulation and fellowship.
Adults at CFL enjoy a quality of life that includes a purpose, social interaction, vocational opportunities and loving care from qualified staff. Before CFL existed, these adults were "warehoused" in nursing homes or state-run facilities, where their caregivers did not receive the training needed to serve their physical, intellectual and emotional needs. Sadly, this often resulted in inactivity, passivity and a shortened life span.
