The Loosen Geriatric Center for Adults with Developmental Disabilities

Our Loosen Geriatric Center is one of the PREMIERE facilities of its kind in the State of Oklahoma. The Loosen Center is a 16-bed Geriatric Facility for residents 70 or over, or for those developmentally delayed adults with health issues that cause them to need more nursing needs. This facility opened in 2000. Each person is comfortable in their own individual room and through the day, many attend educational activities or participate in arts and crafts. The Loosen Center opened in 2000 as one of only two long term facilities in the United States dedicated solely to the care of the developmentally disabled geriatric and infirm population. Professionally decorated and with state of the art amenities, the Loosen Center provides the warmth and comfort of home and the safety and security of a 24 hour a day professional nursing staff.

Each client enjoys a private room appointed with their own belongings and a spacious community living and dining area. Our retired clients take part in reminiscense classes and frequent community outings, as well as music classes and appropriate activities designed to accomodate their age and skill levels.

In 2004, the American Association of Homes and Services for the Aging distinguished the Center of Family Love with the National Organization on Disability Award as the premiere facility of this type in the nation.
